Your day will begin with an aroma wafting upstairs from Lisa’s kitchen, enticing you to the dining room where your host will serve a scrumptious home-cooked breakfast. Early risers can help themselves to coffee or tea, then a formal breakfast will be served at 8:30. (Let us know in advance if you’d prefer an earlier or later meal time and, within reason, we will accommodate your schedule. However, if you need to leave the house before 7 a.m., a bagged breakfast-to-go will be ready and waiting for you.)
A formal breakfast will typically begin with fruit—perhaps a citrus salad, spiced baked pears, or yogurt and berries sprinkled with Lisa’s homemade Maple Almond Granola. Next, you’ll be served a main course. Some mornings we’ll have something sweet, such as Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, French Toast Strata with raspberries, or Apple-Cinnamon Waffles served with toasted walnuts and real maple syrup. Other mornings we’ll have something savory, such as Egg Souffle, Crustless Spinach Quiche, or Asparagus Popover. Additionally, you’ll likely find some of Lisa’s made-from-scratch baked goods on the breakfast table. Cinnamon rolls, banana bread, cranberry orange nut bread, and cheddar-sweet potato biscuits are guest favorites!
