Happy Thanksgiving! After a very busy October–again the busiest month on our calendar—I am grateful for a slower-paced November and am happy to hang up my apron for a few days. I’m thankful that so many of our Laurel neighbors have recommended a stay at Laurel Manor House Bed and Breakfast, and thankful that so many guests have taken time to write glowing reviews about their stay on TripAdvisor. Among the reasons that guests travel to Laurel, Maryland, from all around the country: concerts at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia and concerts at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, world-class thoroughbred horse racing at Laurel Park, vacations for sight-seeing in Washington, DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore, weddings, funerals, business travel, and “just passing through”. I love living in an area that has so much to offer.
During this busy time of year set aside some time on your calendar to enjoy some seasonal events. Here’s what’s on my calendar:
Small Business Saturday in Old Town Laurel: pick up warm beverages, snacks, and a Shop Local Passport Book on the Quill Lot (378 Main Street); enter contest for prizes. November 25, 9 a.m. – noon
Savage Mill Yuletide Festival, featuring a Holiday Makers Market, musical entertainment, and pictures with Santa, November 25–December 17
Holiday Open House at The Laurel Museum and gift shop, December 1 –3, noon – 4 p.m.
